Look who’s clutching the pearls now.

Fresh off a Bud Light boycott that was among the most effective cancel-culture crusades in U.S. history, Trump cult disciples are rushing to the defense of the latest Mini-Me flavor of the moment. He is Vivek Ramaswamy, an insufferable scoundrel and candidate for Republican vice president or worse in 2024.

Their new slogan: “Pocketbook voting is for me, not for thee.”

To hear the MAGA world tell it, Ramaswamy is the latest victim of “woke” fascism trampling his 45th Amendment freedom – enshrined right there in the Bill of Rights – that reads, “Thou shalt not cancel thine enemy’s fundraiser.” The Founders lifted that phrase from the Biblical chapter known as “Two Corinthians” or “the whole ball game.”

The alleged oppressor is Olive + Oak restaurant, a popular dining spot in Webster Groves with a poignant back story. The name of the establishment memorializes two precious children – Oliver “Ollie” Hinkle and Oakes Ortyl – each of whom died from congenital heart failure in the second year of their lives.

Their parents own the restaurant.
