Mark Carney's Inspiring Statesmanship
Canadian prime minister delivers Davos speech that's must-see TV for Americans
I’m always honored that readers take just a few minutes of their time to read what I have to say in this space. But today I’m asking to take those few minutes and watch one of the most remarkable speeches we’ve heard from a world leader in a long time.
It was delivered yesterday to a standing ovation at Davos by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. It’s only 17 minutes long, not counting an excellent Q-and-A afterwards.
If you invest those few minutes—his remarks start at 1:44—I think you might find yourself wanting to watch the whole thing.
Here is Carney's speech:
If you want your mind really blown, go online and watch Donald Trump embarrassing America on the world stage with his customary, self-absorbed and tragically narcissistic regurgitation of lies and non sequiturs. He droned on for about an hour and a half. I cannot adequately place that contrast into words.
Enough from me.
Mark Carney demonstrated what morality, decency, vision and world leadership look like. His towering remarks speak for themselves.

Great speech. Thanks for the link, Ray. How nice to hear a leader speak like an intelligent person.
Thank you!
