Wesley Bell has done a terrific job as St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney, and he would make an even better U.S. Senator.

But it’s an open question as to whether Bell could overcome two centuries of ugly racial history in Missouri to defeat Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Insurrection) in 2024. Bell, who announced his candidacy today, spoke with me hours after his announcement.

I figured I might as well get right to the elephant in the room with the first question:
